My creative gene...

First I have to say I'm oddly surprised from ICLW that no one has seemed to come my way, really. I guess with 180 blogs out there I should expect that, but I'm still a little surprised. Perhaps my life truly is that boring - or maybe it's because IF is a depressing state to be in sometimes. Perhaps if I bring some cheer over here?

Well I'm generally very creative, at least I'd like to think so. I love creating ideas and following through with things - although I'm a little lazy at finishing! Procrastination should be my middle name. Well I started dabbling my hand into micro-stock... come to find out, it's not for me. I don't feel like my work is worth 25¢ every time someone buys it. I especially was frustrated to see one of the other people's pictures that is in micro-stock on a mouse pad making $8 every time someone buys one, when she probably was paid 25¢ to $5 perhaps. So this person is making a good amount off of this picture. I know she's making a lot of money in micro-stock though, she's got a lot of photos up and has a good income coming in. Me? I have probably 12 photos. As you can imagine in competition 12 photos isn't going to get seen in a swarm of billions.

Anyway, so that mouse-pad got me thinking. If I went to zazzle or cafepress and set up a shop there using my photos and sayings I feel like I could make at least a few dollars a month. I'm not looking for a job type of income here (although that wouldn't be shabby), but an extra $100 a month never hurts. So I've been thinking of ideas - and wondered, what IF or RPL shirts would you like to see? I'm going for other ideas as well, but I truly think there should be awareness about IF and RPL out there. I guess I'm more open about what's going on in my reproductive system then some, but I think after all the issues I've been given a "I don't give a damn what you think" attitude. What does every one think?

*Wanted to add: I totally understand ICLW takes a while, there's a ton of blogs! I know I forgot about doing some blog responses the first few days and am making it up. I know there's some blogs where people don't relate, and some that do. I've found a few so far I've instantly followed because they're a lot like me. There's a few too I actually was following in the first place, so it's all understandable :)

Hi Krystal! Thanks for visiting my blog today... sorry to hear about all you've been going through. Inferlity is so unfair!

I'm not incredibly creative so don't have much to add on that end but would be interested in knowing what t-shirt ideas you come up with! I agree that somehow infertility and miscarriage need to stop being so taboo but not sure how to best go about that. I hate being 'in your face' about it and I also don't like eliciting people feeling sorry for me type of feelings... not sure what the right message is to strike that right balance.

I actually stood up in church this weekend and said 'I need your prayers as I'm grieving my 2nd miscarriage on top of being challenged with infertility, both of which shouldn't be taboo'. I was proud of myself for saying it and had several people come up to me afterwards to offer solace.

I can't think of any good ideas for tshirts, but I like the idea. I am sorry more ICLWers haven't come your way. :(

here I am! Sometimes, ICLW takes a bit to get rolling...there are SO many blogs to visit.

Hmmm. Shirts. Gah, I am so terrible at coming up with creative ideas. I like your blog title a LOT...you could start with that?

I agree with Katey. Start with your blog title as a shirt logo. That would be great. Especially if you get it set up and then advertise it here on your blog during ICLW, I'm sure you would get takers. And I'm sorry you haven't gotten more visitors. However this is my second comment, and I'm a follower so you'll be seeing LOTS of comments from me. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I started a new job this week so I have been EXHAUSTED! I think that mouse pads would be a good idea. I'm not good with the catchy sayings though!

Hello! I wish I was creative enough to think of witty shirt ideas, but unfortunately creativity isn't my strong point. It sounds like a good idea though, and I'm sure you'll come up with something great! Personally I would love a maternity shirt that shows the infertile world that you're not just one of the "oops...i'm pregnant" ladies. :P
Thanks for your comment on my blog though! And I hope that more people come around to yours! Best of luck to you :)

Stopping by from ICLW...
I think that you have a great idea for raising awareness about IF! I wish I had a clever suggestion for you, but I don't.

Have a great day!

I'm like Britt--no idea what micro-stock is but want to know now!!!!

I am so, so sorry about your losses...and I am sure with the latest so recent, your heart is hurting so. I am very sorry for that.

I can relate to 2ndary IF--in a somewhat different way in that my son was IVF, born, and died before we got to bring him home...so trying again was officially diagnosed as secondary IF--which seems sort of ironically cruel.

Working through the military insurance doesn't make it ANY easier, does it???? I've been Tricare Prime for nearly 14 years...and for the most part, been ok with it...but for IF? Blech.

Prayers for you and again, so sorry for your losses.

Hi there! I have done ICLW quite a few times, and it varies how many people stop by. I hope you keep doing it, maybe you'll have more folks stop by next time!

I am so sorry for your losses, I can't imagine what that is like. I hope you are doing okay.

Happy ICLW. I like the shirt idea. I think a nice simple "Infertility Sucks" shirt would be nice. I'd wear it!

I'm sorry for your losses. Best of luck to you in the future.

I use Cafe Press to get shirts for my highland dancers sometimes but I've never looked further to what they offer. I would think that an acronym shirt might be interesting.

Hi! I'm so sorry to read about your losses.

I like the shirt idea, too. Something simple maybe?

I'm visiting from ICLW! I think the shirt idea would go over really well. I'd say the more simple, more universal, the better. And what better place to display them than with the IF community!

I think that's a great idea! Make some things stuff people wouldn't get unless they were infertiles as well. One idea, like a tag cloud from off a blog, but only with the 'lingo' - 2WW, AF, TTC, BD, CD, BFN, etc.
